This winter has been warmer than usual, but Mother Nature finally delivered some snow. If you’re looking for adventure (and who isn’t?), here are five winter adventures to make the most of a snowy day in Zion.
1. Go Take a (Winter) Hike in Zion
Even in the snow, some of Zion’s lower-elevation trails are totally doable. Wander along Riverside Walk, Pa’rus Trail, Canyon Overlook, or the lower Emerald Pools for a quieter, peaceful side of the park.
And remember, winter trails can be slick even without snow. Bring traction devices, trekking poles, gloves, hats, and wool socks when winter hiking in Zion National Park—your feet and fingers will thank you.

2. Conquer Coral Sands Canyon
Live for adrenaline? Coral Sands Canyon Canyoneering Tour is the ultimate snowy adventure. Hike four miles, rappel five times (with descents up to 70 feet), and navigate twisting slot canyons that feel straight out of a fantasy.
Snow-dusted anyon walls create a surreal playground, but don’t forget your cold-weather layers. This one’s for the thrill-seekers. The adventure and the photos are worth it.

3. Saddle Up for White Mountain Horseback Ride
Snow + horses = magic. Departing from Orderville, the White Mountain Horseback Ride takes you through East Zion’s scenic terrain straight to a slot canyon. Beginner? No worries. Each guided tour starts with a quick lesson before hitting the trail.
Dismount at the mouth of the canyon to explore the narrow sandstone walls. On a snowy day, this ride becomes an unforgettable winter adventure.

4. Explore the East Rim by Jeep
Want to cover more ground? The East Rim Jeep Tour is an epic four-wheel adventure. Stop for jaw-dropping views of Checkerboard Mesa and Jolley Gulch. And, again, don’t forget to bundle up. Gloves, hats, and a warm coat are essential for this rugged, one-hour ride.

5. Snowshoe Across Zion Ponderosa
Staying at Zion Ponderosa? The adventure starts the moment you step outside your cabin. Strap on some snowshoes and explore the trails near your cabin or head to Cable Mountain. Snowshoes, traction devices, trekking poles, and waterproof boots are your winter besties.
