Why Adventure Is the Best Gift

Every year, we search for gifts that matter—things our family and friends will actually use, enjoy, and remember long after the wrapping paper is gone. But the truth is, most “stuff” ends up forgotten or eventually donated. That’s why more families are choosing to gift something different: adventure.

Adventure is the best gift because doesn’t get lost in the back of a closet, doesn’t get returned, and doesn’t add clutter to your home. Instead, it creates a shared experience. A memory and a moment that stays with you. In other words, an East Zion Adventures gift certificate is more than a piece of paper—it’s a ticket to epic adventures, incredible scenery, precious moments with people you care about, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Not sure where to start? Here are our top five most popular adventures this year—experiences that thousands of guests chose as the highlight of their vacation!

1. White Mountain Horseback Ride

EastZionAdventures

Our most booked adventure of the year, the White Mountain Horseback Ride is an instant favorite for families. Riders travel through trails with views of East Zion’s incredible cliffs and canyons, and it all leads to a slot canyon where you dismount and explore on foot. It’s beautiful, scenic, and an awe-inspiring experience for kids and adults alike.

2. Crimson Canyon Hike

Two people in an East Zion slot canyon

This non-technical guided hike begins with an off-road UTV adventure to Crimson Canyon. Then the hike begins through a narrow slot canyon—only 6 to 10 feet wide at some points with canyon walls soaring 100 feet high. There’s some scrambling and certain times of year water pools at the bottom so be prepared for these adventurous conditions.

3. Red Rock Slot Canyon

A UTV tour to a slot canyon in East Zion

Families love this slot canyon adventure for its narrow corridors and playful natural features. Photographers love it for the shifting light and deep red sandstone curves. The Red Rock Slot Canyon is a great gift for someone on your list who’s ready for a fun UTV/slot canyon combo adventure but doesn’t want to scramble.

4. Stargazing Night

a star in the middle of the night

East Zion is home to some of the darkest skies in the country, making stargazing an unforgettable experience. Look through a high-powered telescope, learn about the night sky and see the constellations—and maybe even catch a glimpse of the Milky Way on a clear night. This guided stargazing tour takes place at Zion Ponderosa with a 10-minute uphill walk to get away from light.

5. Zion Sunset Jeep Tour

There’s no better way to end a day than overlooking East Zion and Zion National Park at sunset. The Zion Sunset Jeep Tour climbs to Pine Knoll for a spectacular 360-degree view (and includes snacks).
