At East Zion Adventures, located on Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, we’re dedicated to making sure our guests have an unforgettable experience during their Zion National Park vacation. That’s why we offer a variety of activities designed to maximize your enjoyment both within the park and at our resort. From questions about tours, booking, shuttles, and discounts, we’ve got you covered. Here are answers to your FAQs!
What kind of guided adventures do you offer?
Jeep tours, horseback riding, canyoneering, hiking tours, UTV adventures, guided stargazing and more. For many of our guided adventures, you have the option to choose from multiple locations and tour lengths. See all of East Zion Adventures guided tours here.
Why should I book an East Zion Adventures guided tour?
Whether you’re a seasoned explorer or a first-time visitor, our guided tours provide an insider’s perspective of Zion National Park and the surrounding East Zion area. You may not know all that there is to see and do in East Zion, but our knowledgeable guides do! Plus, we have the equipment, transportation, and safety skills you need for a safe adventure.

How far should I book in advance?
We highly recommend booking at least two weeks in advance, and even further out for large groups. Booking several months in advance is the best way to ensure availability for your desired guided tour.
Do the tours take place inside Zion National Park?
Most of our tours take place just outside the east entrance of Zion National Park. One exception is the Guided Angels Landing Hike. This tour is ideal for those who were not able to secure the required permit. When guided by us, your permit is included. Space is very limited for this guided adventure inside Zion National Park, so be sure to book well in advance.
Where does my tour start?
This depends on which adventure you book. Be sure to check your pickup location when booking your adventure online. If you’re unsure, please check with us first. We offer pickups at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort, Zion Mountain Ranch, and in Orderville. Select tours depart from Kanab and other locations.

How many people can you take on a guided canyoneering trip?
There are general restrictions on any public lands area to guided groups no larger than 12 people, including guides. For example, if a tour requires two guides, there would be space for 10 guests on your guided adventure. You can check how many people you’re able to book online or by contacting our recreation staff.
I’ve never ridden a horse. Are your horseback rides beginner-friendly?
Our horses are chosen and trained to match the wide variety of guests that visit the resort. Be sure to let your wranglers know about your past riding experience so they can team you up with the best horseback ride for your skill level. Our horses are young enough to enjoy the Zion trails, strong enough to make the climbs, and obedient for safety.

My kid isn’t quite 8 years old, can I still take them on a horseback ride?
Our age minimum for horseback riding is 8 years. This is a size and safety issue. Children should be at least four feet tall so they can reach the stirrups and stay on the horse for the duration of the ride. If your kiddos are too small for a full size horse, little ones aged three to seven can still experience the thrill of horseback riding on a Little Wrangler Ride.
Are there weight restrictions on any activities?
For guest safety, there is a 250-pound weight limit on climbing, rappelling, and horseback rides.
Do you rent gear?
We rent hiking boots, neoprene socks, and wooden walking sticks. We also have a few waders, splash jackets, and gloves that may be available upon request. Please check with the recreation staff to ensure we have your size available.
Do you have a shuttle?
We have two shuttle options. With our Zion National Park shuttle, you can avoid parking stress and be dropped off right at the Visitor Center. From there, you can catch the park shuttle to enjoy Zion’s most popular stops like the Narrows, Angels Landing, and Emerald Pools. Our Observation Point Shuttle from Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort takes you to the East Mesa or Stave Springs Trailhead to access either the Observation Point or Cable Mountain trails. No need to worry about parking or if your vehicle can make it up to this stunning trail–because ours do!

Which phone number is best for contacting East Zion Adventures?
Both (435) 648-2712 and (833) 297-2712 work and go directly to our reservations line. The 435 number is our local number and is best for people using cell phones. The 833 number is our toll free number for people calling from a landline.
